ABOUT THE POSITION
Provide traffic and parking lot control for the purpose of maintaining efficient traffic flow on campus while working to ensure the safety of students, each morning school is in session.
This is an Extra Service position, which means the employee will be paid a stipend upon completion of services.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires:
- A high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law
- One year experience in the operation of a motor vehicle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following are listed for reference. Success will involve the ongoing demonstration of desire and ability to perform responsibilities effectively, efficiently, pleasantly and with a focus on student success.
- Monitor campus parking lots to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic.
- Direct traffic of cars entering and exiting campus in the morning during the school year.
- Check vehicles for display of proper parking permits.
- Monitor motorists for compliance with speed limits and traffic flow directions.
- Provide directions to buildings and campus facilities.
- Answer questions regarding traffic and parking regulations
- Be available to assist campus community in emergency situations by making the appropriate contact (police, fire, ambulance, etc.).
- Strict adherence to the Policies and Procedures of the Boyle County Board of Education, the Employee Handbook and Kentucky Revised Statutes.
- Fulfilling contractual obligation of days worked.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Works in all weather conditions, including temperatures above 100° and below 32° and occasionally will walk on slippery surfaces.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
