POSITION: Substitute Custodian (2018-2019)

 

REPORTS TO: School Principal  

 

SUMMARY: To care for the maintenance, sanitation, cleanliness and safety of the school building and grounds in the absence of a regular custodian.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building.
  • Perform routine custodial activities at assigned site.
  • Clean classrooms, restrooms, showers, locker rooms, shops, cafeteria, offices and other related facilities as assigned. 
  • Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school.
  • Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of students or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
